What to Expect in Your First Session

Your first session is an opportunity to begin building trust and understanding. Together, we’ll discuss what brought you to counseling and identify the goals you’d like to work toward. We’ll also explore what approaches and strategies might feel most supportive for you.

 

This initial conversation is designed to help you feel comfortable and to ensure that counseling aligns with your needs and expectations. You’ll have the space to share as much or as little as you feel ready to, with no pressure to dive too deeply right away.

 

We’ll also discuss:

  • Your personal history and what’s currently impacting your life.

  • Practical considerations, like scheduling and confidentiality.

  • Any questions you have about the counseling process.
