Frequently Asked Questions
We know that starting therapy — or even just finding the right therapist — can come with a lot of questions. This section is here to help clarify what to expect, from scheduling and fees to how therapy works at Wild Mind Counseling.
If you don’t see your question answered here, please feel free to reach out to us at admin@wildmindcounseling.com — we’re happy to help.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes — for individual therapy sessions only.
We are currently in-network with:
-
Aetna
-
Cigna
-
Premera
-
United Healthcare
As of September 2025, we are also in the process of becoming paneled with Regence and Washington State Medicaid. If you’re hoping to use one of these plans, please reach out to admin@wildmindcounseling.com to check on the status.
Please note: Couples, relationship, and family therapy sessions are not billable to insurance and are private pay only as of January 2025.
Since insurance coverage varies, we recommend verifying your mental health benefits directly with your provider. We’re happy to assist if you have questions.
What are your fees?
As of June 2025, our standard session rates are:
Individual Therapy:
-
$150 per 60-minute session with a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA)
-
$175 per 60-minute session with a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)

Couples, Relationship, or Family Therapy
-
$200 per 90-minute session with any counselor
We are no longer billing insurance for couples, relationship, or family sessions. These are private pay only.
Where are you located?
Our office is located in the heart of the Fremont neighborhood in Seattle — a vibrant, central area that’s easily accessible by several bus lines. There is typically ample street parking available nearby, including both free and paid options, but give yourself a few extra minutes to find a spot.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes — we offer virtual therapy through secure, HIPAA-compliant video platforms.
While we currently prioritize in-person sessions for new clients, virtual sessions are available for current clients and may be offered to new clients on a case-by-case basis.
Some of our therapists work exclusively via telehealth. To learn more, please check their individual profiles on our website for details about their availability and format of sessions.
What is an Associate-Level Therapist (LMHCA)?
An Associate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHCA) is a trained therapist who has completed a graduate degree in counseling or a related mental health field and is now fulfilling Washington State’s requirement for post-graduate supervised clinical experience.
During this time, LMHCAs provide direct therapy services while receiving regular guidance and oversight from a state-approved clinical supervisor.
At Wild Mind Counseling, supervision is more than just a legal requirement — it’s part of our ongoing commitment to equity, cultural humility, and lifelong learning. This collaborative model means that every client benefits from the insights, reflection, and support of both the associate therapist and an experienced licensed clinician. It’s a structure designed to support both the counselor's development and your well-being.
